The Kackar Mountains are not only a fantastic destination for summer holidays, but they also offer an incredible experience for ski enthusiasts.

What makes the Kackar Mountains so appealing to skiers? It’s the combination of high-quality snow and breathtaking landscapes. Often referred to as the "Turkish Alps," the Kackar Mountains boast stunning scenery that, in our opinion, surpasses that of the Alps. Best of all, they remain largely undiscovered, allowing us to enjoy the slopes without the crowds.

Our Kackar ski tour is designed so that each day, right from the doorstep of our guesthouse, you can strap on your skis and embark on an exciting skiing adventure in this pristine winter wonderland.

Day 1: Arrival in Erzurum and Transfer to Yaylalar Village
Upon your arrival at Erzurum Airport, our guide will greet you and, depending on your arrival time, we may take a short sightseeing tour of Erzurum, known for its rich history and cultural landmarks. Following the tour, we will embark on a scenic drive to Yaylalar Village, located on the southern side of the Kaçkar Mountains. The journey takes approximately 4 hours, offering stunning views of the mountainous landscape.
At an altitude of around 1900 meters, our guesthouse in Yaylalar will be your cozy base for the night.

Day 2: Ski Touring in Gungormez Valley – Modut Peak (2900 m)
After a hearty breakfast at the guesthouse, we will gear up and begin our ski ascent towards the summit ridge of the Gungormez Mountains. The climb takes us up steep slopes with rewarding panoramic views at the top. Once we've soaked in the breathtaking scenery from the summit of Modut Peak (2900 m), we will embark on an exhilarating descent through a narrow, forested valley, eventually making our way back to Yaylalar Village.

Ascent & descent: approximately 1000 meters.

Day 3: Ski Touring to a Peak in the Gungormez Mountain Range (3140 m)

After a breakfast at the guesthouse, we’ll set out for another exciting day of ski touring. Today’s route will take us to the highest peak in the Gungormez Mountain Range, at an altitude of 3140 meters. The climb promises stunning views of the surrounding snowy peaks and valleys. After taking in the views at the summit, we will enjoy a thrilling ski descent back to the village.

Ascent & descent: approximately 1140 meters.

Day 4: Ski Touring to Lanetleme Pass via Ceymakcur and Descent to Olgunlar (3200 m)

Today’s adventure takes us to the renowned Lanetleme Pass, a key route leading to the northern side of the Kackar Mountains. We will ascend through the scenic Ceymakcur Valley, with views that grow more majestic as we approach the pass at 3200 meters. After reaching the pass, we will embark on a rewarding descent all the way back to Yaylalar Village. This will be a long, but incredibly rewarding day.

Ascent & descent: approximately 1300 meters.

Day 5: Ski Touring to Olgunlar Village – Dilberdüzü – Hevek Pass (3275 m) or Deniz Gölü Lake (3300 m)

Today’s tour takes us along a scenic route through Büyükçay to Dilberdüzü, a renowned pasture area in the Kackar Mountains and a popular base camp for summer climbs to Mount Kackar (Kaçkar Dağı). From Dilberdüzü, you have two exciting options:Climb to Hevek Pass (3275 m) for sweeping views of the Dilberdüzü Plateau or ascend to Deniz Gölü Lake (3300 m), a stunning alpine lake nestled in the heart of the mountains.

After a well-earned break at the top, we’ll begin an exhilarating ski descent along the same route, back to Yaylalar Village.

Ascent & descent: approximately 1400-1500 meters (6-7 hours).

Day 6: Ski Touring to Korahmet & Tasyayla Plateau – Bulut Mountains (3562 m)

After breakfast, we will set off towards the Korahmet and Tasyayla Plateaus, skiing further north into the majestic Bulut Mountain Range. After a brief rest, we will make our ascent to the summit of Bulut Dağı (3562 m), where breathtaking views of the Kackar Mountain Range await. Standing at the summit, you will be able to take in the panoramic view of the countless peaks surrounding you. Following this, we will enjoy an exciting descent back along the same path, returning to our guesthouse in Yaylalar Village.

Ascent & descent: approximately 1600 meters (6-7 hours).

Day 7: Ski Touring to Demirciler – Kemerli Kaçkar (Barhal/Karagöl Side)

On our final full day, we will head toward one of the most popular summits in the Southern Kackars—Kemerli Kackar. After crossing the opposite side of the guesthouse, we will tackle a steep ascent to the summit. From the top, we will experience fantastic views before we descend the same route, skiing down through breathtaking terrain.

Ascent & descent: approximately 1100 meters.

Day 8: Transfer to Erzurum Airport via Yusufeli – Departure

After breakfast, we will begin our 4-hour transfer to Erzurum Airport. As we drive through the beautiful Yusufeli region, it will be a perfect time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences of our Kackar Mountains ski adventure.
