The best option for individual travelers is to join to one of our scheduled groups.

The number of group participants is limited to 15 people and trekking is guaranteed, regardless of the number of climbers.

These tours are perfect for solo climbers, couples or anyone who would like to share their mountain experiences with people with similar interests and way of thinking.

For the 2025 summer season, we have planned 14 "open" groups that you can join. All tours are guaranteed.

Dates of the scheduled groups for 2025:

16-21 June 2025

22-28 June 2025

29 June - 05 July 2025

06-12 July 2025

13-19 July 2025

20-26 July 2025

27 July - 02 August 2025

03-09 August 2025

10-16 August 2025

17-23 August 2025

23-29 August 2025

31 August - 06 September 2025

07-13 September 2025

14-20 September 2025

These scheduled groups have a slightly different program than our classic 4-day or 5-day tours.

On the fourth day, after reaching the summit of Ararat, the groups descend to Ararat Camp 1 (at 3200 m) for the night and return to Dogubayazit the next day. Some climbers find it difficult to climb to the top of Ararat and then descend to an altitude of 2200 m, so we have prepared this, more comfortable version of the program.

Program of Ararat trekking tour

Day 1

Arrival and transfer to Dogubayazit

Our team will welcome you at the airport in Igdir or Agri. Upon arrival, we will take you to Dogubayazit, the town that is the starting point for all Mount Ararat expeditions.

Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel in Dogubayazit and have some time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.

In the evening, there will be a briefing with your mountain guide. During this meeting, the guide will provide essential information regarding the trek, discuss safety protocols, and answer any questions you may have about the upcoming ascent of Mount Ararat.

Then we can have a dinner at a local restaurant in Dogubayazit, where you can enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine and get acquainted with fellow trekkers.

Day 2

From Dogubayazit to Ararat Camp 1

In the morning we will have breakfast at the hotel. Then we will pack our equipment on minibuses and drive to the foot of Mount Ararat. We will stop near to Cevirme village, located at an elevation 2200 m, from where we will start to climb to our Ararat Camp 1, located at an elevation 3200 m. Our luggage and food will be loaded on horses by our porters and transported to the Camp 1.

After 4-5 hours we should reach the campsite, where hot and cold drinks and small refreshment will wait for us. Later we will set up our tents and have a rest. At the evening, about 6 p.m., our cook will serve dinner. After dinner we have free time.

Overnight in tents at the campsite.

Day 3

Acclimatization day

At around 8 a.m., we will begin the day with a breakfast. Afterward, we’ll pack our lunch and gear for the day, including light backpacks, and set out for an acclimatization hike to an altitude of 4200 m. This hike will help our bodies gradually adjust to the high altitude, significantly reducing the risk of altitude sickness. Upon reaching the higher altitude, we’ll take a short rest before descending back to Camp 1.

Upon our return to the campsite, we will be welcomed with hot tea, coffee, and snacks prepared by our cook. The afternoon will be yours to relax and recover, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

In the evening, our cook will serve a dinner, and we will spend another night at the campsite, ready for the next stage of our journey.

Day 4

Ascent to Ararat Camp 2

After breakfast, we will pack our trekking gear and supplies, which will be transported by horses, and begin our ascent to Camp 2, located at 4,200 meters. The trek will take approximately 4-5 hours, during which we’ll steadily gain altitude, enjoying stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Upon reaching the campsite, we will set up our tents. The remainder of the afternoon will be free, giving you time to rest and check your personal equipment to ensure everything is ready for the summit attempt the following day.

At the evening we will be treated to a hot meal prepared by our cook.

It’s recommended to get to bed early for much-needed rest, as the following day’s summit climb will be challenging.

Overnight in tents.

Day 5

Ascent to Ararat summit and return to Camp 1

We will get up very early (usually between 1-2 a.m.) and have a small breakfast. Then we will take lunch packages and thermoses of hot tea, prepared by our chef, last time we will check our equipment (headlamps, crampons, walking poles, ect.) and will start ascent to the summit of Ararat mountain. We should reach the summit of Mount Ararat 5-7 hours later. On the summit we will take a short break to take photos and celebrate our success. After a short rest on the top, we will start the descent to Camp 2 at an altitude 4200 meters. In the camp we will drink hot tea or coffee, eat something and rest 1-2 hours. Later we will pack our equipment and start descending to Camp 1 at an altitude 3200 m.

Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

We will wake up in the early hours of the morning (typically between 1-2 a.m.) for a light breakfast. Our chef will provide packed lunches and thermoses of hot tea to keep us energized during the climb. After a final check of our gear—headlamps, crampons, walking poles, and other essentials—we will begin our ascent to the summit of Mount Ararat.

The climb to the summit typically takes 5-7 hours, depending on conditions and pace of the group. Upon reaching the peak of Mount Ararat (5137 m), we’ll take a well-deserved short break to capture photos, enjoy the magnificent views, and celebrate our accomplishment at Turkey’s highest peak.

After a short rest at the summit, we will begin our descent back to Camp 2 (4200 m), where hot tea or coffee and snacks will be waiting for us. After 1-2 hours of rest, we will pack up our gear and continue descending to Camp 1 (3200 m).

Dinner will be served at Camp 1, followed by an overnight stay at the campsite to rest after this unforgettable day.

Day 6

Return to Dogubayazit, sightseeing

After enjoying breakfast at the campsite, we will pack up all equipment and begin our descent to the designated pick-up point, where minibuses will be waiting to transfer us back to Dogubayazit. Once we arrive at our hotel, you’ll have time to rest and refresh before lunch.

In the afternoon, we will visit the impressive Ishak Pasha Palace, one of the most important Ottoman palaces, built in the 17th century. Located just 7 km from Dogubayazit, the palace offers stunning architecture and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Following this, we’ll explore the Durupinar Site, a unique, canoe-shaped formation that some believe to be the "footprint" of Noah's Ark—an intriguing site that adds a sense of mystery to the day’s exploration.

To unwind after the day's activities, there will be an optional visit to a Turkish Bath (Hamam), where you can relax and rejuvenate in the traditional Turkish style.

The day will conclude with a dinner and an overnight stay at our hotel in Dogubayazit.

Our classic Ararat trekking program, enhanced with an extra day for optimal acclimatization, is the most often chosen trekking by all mountaineers.

We will ascend Mount Ararat via its south face, which is considered the safest and most accessible route. The additional acclimatization day ensures better adaptation to high-altitude conditions, significantly increasing our chances of a successful summit.
