Short Ascent on Mount Ararat

    This expedition is designed for mountaineers who are already well-acclimatized from recent climbs at high altitudes. If you’re confident in your ability to perform at elevation and have limited time, this fast ascent of Mount Ararat is the perfect option for you.

    Over the course of three days, you will conquer the summit of Mount Ararat, the highest peak in Turkey.

    Please note that this program does not include an additional day for acclimatization, making it essential that participants are properly acclimatized before joining.

    Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Dogubayazit
    Upon your arrival at either Igdir or Agri Airport, our team will be there to greet you. We will then transfer you to the town of Dogubayazit, the gateway to all Mount Ararat expeditions.
    After checking in to your hotel, you will have some time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.
    In the evening, there will be a briefing with your mountain guide. During this meeting, the guide will provide essential information regarding the trek, discuss safety protocols, and answer any questions you may have about the upcoming ascent of Mount Ararat.
    Then we can have a dinner at a local restaurant in Dogubayazit, where you can enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine and get acquainted with fellow trekkers.

    Day 2: From Dogubayazit to Ararat Camp 1

    We will start our Ararat trekking tour about 9 am, after eating breakfast. We will pack our equipment in minibus (extra things not necessary on mountain we can leave in the hotel) and will drive to Cevirme village at 2200 m. We will stop near to the village, where is starting point of all trekking tours. Porters will pack all the luggage and camping equipment on horses and it will be transferred directly to Camp 1. We will take our lunch packets and small backpacks and walk up to Camp 1 located at an elevation 3200 m. The campsite we should reach within 3-4 hours. On the campsite we will set up our tents, eat some snacks and have a rest. At the evening hot dinner will be served by our cook.
    Overnight in tents at Camp 1.

    Day 3: Ascent to Ararat Camp 2 at 4200 m
    In the morning we will pack our luggage and fold the tents. Then w will have breakfast. After breakfast we will start hiking to Ararat Camp 2 located at an elevation at 4200 m. (all the equipment, like in previous day, will be transported by horses).
    After 4-5 hours, when we will reach the high camp, we will set up our tents, eat dinner and prepare ourselves for conquering the summit of Mount Ararat the following day.

    Day 4: Summit Day, return to Dogubayazit
    We start climbing very early in the morning (about 1 - 2 a.m.). Within 5-7 hours we should reach Mount Ararat summit. Depending on snow conditions crampons may be needed for the last 200-300 meters.
    Afterwards we will return to Camp 2, where we will have a little rest (about 1-2 hours), eat meal and pack our equipment.
    Then we will walk down to Cevirme Village at 2200 m, where minibus will wait for us. On the way we can stop on Camp 1 for a short rest.
    We will back to Dogubayazit, to our hotel.

    Day 5: Departure
    In the morning you can enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel.
    Later we will arrange your transfer to the airport for your return flight.
