This trekking adventure takes you across three majestic volcanic peaks: Mount Nemrut Caldera (3050 m), Mount Suphan (4058 m), and Mount Ararat (5137 m). Starting in the vibrant city of Van, you will climb these iconic mountains, enjoying breathtaking views of Lake Van from the summits of Nemrut and Suphan. These initial ascents will serve as ideal acclimatization before the final challenge—the ascent to Mount Ararat, Turkey’s highest peak.

Beyond the thrill of mountaineering, this tour offers a rich cultural experience, with visits to historical sites such as the Urartian Castle (9th century BC), the Church of the Holy Cross on Akdamar Island, and the stunning Ishak Pasha Palace, a 17th-century architectural masterpiece of the Ottoman Empire.

Day 1: Sightseeing of Van area, transfer to Mount Nemrut
Upon arrival in Van, you will meet your guide at the airport. Our first stop will be the Van Castle, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. From the city center, we will drive to the ferry terminal for a short cruise to Akdamar Island, where we will visit the Church of the Holy Cross, an Armenian church built between 915 and 921 AD. After exploring this historical gem, we will transfer to our campsite near Nemrut Crater Lake.

Day 2: Hiking on Nemrut Caldera, transfer to Mount Suphan
After breakfast, we will begin our trek to the west side of Nemrut Crater Lake, ascending to the summit of Mount Nemrut. The summit provides spectacular views of the surrounding volcanic landscape. Following our descent, we will transfer to Mount Suphan, where we will set up camp for the night.

Day 3: Ascent to Suphan summit
After early breakfast we will start to ascent to the summit of Mount Suphan (4058 m), from where we will have breathtaking view of Van Lake and surroundings. After break for taking photos we will descent to campsite, for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Dogubayazit, sightseeing
After breakfast, we will pack our belongings and begin our drive to Dogubayazit, where we will check into a comfortable hotel. Here, you'll have the opportunity to refresh and relax with a hot shower after your journey.
Following a break, we’ll head to the city center for a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine. In the afternoon, we will visit the historic Ishak Pasha Palace, a stunning 17th-century Ottoman palace located just 7 km from Dogubayazit, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 5: From Dogubayazit to Ararat Camp 1
After breakfast in hotel we will pack our equipment and drive to Cevirme Village, near to the foot of Mount Ararat. Porters will put our luggage on horses and we will start our trek to the Camp 1 (Base Camp) at 3200 m. On the camp we will eat lunch, drink hot tea and pitch our tents. Rest time and dinner.

Day 6: Ascent to Ararat Camp 2
We eat breakfast on the Camp 1, pack our equipment and start to ascent to Camp 2 located at 4200 m. Horses will carry our luggage to Camp 2. On the campsite we will eat lunch, pitch our tents and prepare our equipment for next day (ascent to the summit).

Day 7: Trekking to the summit of Ararat, return to Dogubayazit
After very early wake up we will eat small breakfast and start to climb to the top of Mount Ararat (5137 m). After reaching the summit and short break for taking photos we will start to descent to Camp 2, where we will have a rest, lunch and we will pack our things. After a rest we will continue descent to Camp 1 and later to Cevirme Village, where minibuses will wait for us. We will back to Dogubayazit, to the hotel.

Day 8: Departure
In the morning you can enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel.
Later we will arrange your transfer to the airport for your return flight, ending your unforgettable trekking adventure on three volcanoes.

NOTE: There is also an option accommodating the group in hotels in Van and Adilcevaz, instead of at the campsites.
