Mount Ararat Trekking Tours 2026 - Open groups & program

The best option for individual travelers is to join one of our scheduled groups. Each group is limited to a maximum of 15 participants, and every departure is guaranteed, regardless of the number of climbers.

These tours are ideal for solo adventurers, couples, or anyone who wants to share an unforgettable mountain experience with like-minded travelers.

For the 2026 summer season, we have planned 14 open groups you can join.

Scheduled Group Dates 2026

· 14–20 June

· 21–27 June

· 28 June – 4 July

· 5–11 July

· 12–18 July

· 19–25 July

· 26 July – 1 August

· 2–8 August

· 9–15 August

· 16–22 August

· 23–29 August

· 30 August – 5 September

· 6–12 September

· 13–19 September

Note: These scheduled groups follow a slightly different program than our standard 4- or 5-day itineraries. After reaching the summit on Day 4, the group descends to Camp 1 (3200 m) for an overnight stay and returns to Dogubayazit the following day. This modification makes the descent more comfortable, especially for those who find descending from 5137 m to 2200 m in a single day challenging.

Tour Program – Day by Day

Day 1 – Arrival and Transfer to Dogubayazit
Our team will welcome you at the Igdir or Agri Airport and transfer you to Dogubayazit — the gateway to Mount Ararat. After checking in at the hotel, you’ll have time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead. In the evening, there will be a briefing with your mountain guide, covering essential information, safety protocols, and the upcoming ascent. We’ll then enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where you can taste traditional Turkish cuisine and meet your fellow trekkers.

Day 2 – From Dogubayazit to Ararat Camp 1
After breakfast, we’ll pack our equipment onto minibuses and drive to the foot of Mount Ararat, near Cevirme village (2200 m). From there, we’ll trek to Camp 1 (3200 m), while horses transport our luggage and supplies. The ascent takes around 4–5 hours. At the campsite, light refreshments will be waiting for us. We’ll set up tents, have dinner around 6 p.m., and spend the night in tents.

Day 3 – Acclimatization Day
After breakfast, we’ll set out for an acclimatization hike to 4200 m with light backpacks. This hike helps our bodies adjust to the altitude and reduces the risk of altitude sickness. After a short rest at higher elevation, we’ll return to Camp 1 for tea, coffee, and snacks. Dinner and overnight at Camp 1.

Day 4 – Ascent to Camp 2
After breakfast, we’ll ascend to Camp 2 (4200 m), where we’ll set up tents and prepare for the summit attempt. The hike takes around 4–5 hours. The afternoon is free for rest and gear check. Dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 5 – Summit Day
We’ll wake up between 1–2 a.m. for a light breakfast and begin our ascent. The climb to the summit (5137 m) usually takes 5–7 hours. At the top, we’ll enjoy magnificent views and celebrate our achievement. We’ll descend to Camp 2 for rest, then continue to Camp 1 for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Return to Dogubayazit & Sightseeing
After breakfast, we’ll descend to the pick-up point and return to Dogubayazit. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Ishak Pasha Palace and the Durupinar Site (the so-called ‘Noah’s Ark’). Optional visit to a traditional Turkish Bath (Hamam) in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.
