Mount Damavand is the highest peak of Iran (5671 m, or according to other sources: 5604 m., 5610 m.), and one of Volcanic Seven Summits (the highest volcanoes on each of the seven continents).
The mountain is not technically difficult. The main barrier in reaching its summit is its height. Also volcanic fumes coming out near the summit can make the climb more difficult. However, the effort is rewarded with fantastic view from the top of Mount Damavand.
Due to the lack of technical difficulties while climbing, Damavand is an ideal destination not only for enthusiasts of reaching the highest volcanoes of all continents, but also for anyone who would like to try their hand at the five-thousanders for the first time.
During our tour we will reach the summit of Damavand from the classic South route. Before the mountain action, we will also have opportunity to explore some of cultural treasures of Tehran – the capital of Iran.
